Natter night 1st Oct

A well attended night with seven visitors, it looks like they enjoy bad weather. It was nice to see Ken M back especially since he was the only one to bring a tree, a small Juniper cascade.

Here Ken is taking some old wire off before rewiring and clipping.

The front view before any work was done.

The rear view.

Not a good photo but shows the foliage is much thinner than before.
This tree is typically from Japan the way the trunk has had the wire left on to form a twisted Shari most of the way up it.This will have to be worked on in the future to improve and naturalise it.
All to soon it was time to bring the night to an end once more.

  1. I get the impression that more-or-less-regular informal get-togethers to work on/discuss/enjoy bonsai are more common in the UK than they are here in the USA. Something we could learn from, methinks.

    Nice little shimpaku, too! :)
