We thought we had gone back it time today when we came across these scenes.

Our latest trip.

We are on our latest trip for a few days again only this time I will make it easy for you to guess where.

This time there are some trees, full size though.

The base of a nice Yew.

Looking up through the canopy.

A nice Willow, now then with a bit of wire!!!

No Kath that is not Primark.

The biggest clue.

Birds.

Here are some photos I took at Willowbog this week, just some of the birds I saw.

Green finch and Siskin.

Woodpecker.

There was to many to photograph them all.

Natter night 22nd July.

A little late, but better late than never, this is because I was away looking after the nursery at Willowbog.

This is a golden Yew belonging to Ken M, which has had a clip out.

The picture was drawn by Marc Noelanders when Ken attended a workshop a few years ago.
As you can see it is starting to take shape.

This little Hawthorn is one Devy got off the internet, it has had a very basic styling for now.

There will not be a natter night this coming Monday the 29th as I am busy and had to cancel.

Honey i'm home.

After a week looking after the nursery at Willowbog  I am now back at home, so I am also back on line once more. I have enjoyed my week but I now know every hose pipe  personally, so to speak, during this kind of weather it takes an awful lot of water to keep the Bonsai alive. A long but vital job which I find slightly therapeutic, I think it is because I am giving the trees a lifeline. It was not all work though as I said in my last post, I did have some time to do my own trees, and relax of course.

This one a False Cypress Boulevard has been left to grow on so far this year, now was the time to do a restyle.
So after adding wire and some clipping out here is the result.

Once the tree has recovered I will do some more work on the deadwood.

As last night was my last night up at Willowbog the weather gave me a sunset send off.

A good end to a good week.

Welcome home Peter & Jean.
Get them hose-pipes going.

A visit home.

A strange title but as I am staying at Willowbog for a week not a bad one.As I had to pop home for a couple of things I decided to do a quick post. I took with me my Squamata Juniper just in case I got bored, having nothing to do but relax, no chance, looking after a Bonsai nursery is not an easy task, although enjoyable. I did manage to do some work on the tree between other jobs so it is not all work and no play.

Looks pretty good now I have got all the wire on and most of the foliage where I want it.

This is how it was when I got it.

Quite a big change, don't you think?

Well some clean socks and back to work at Willowbog.

I will post some more when my week is over.

Ken's party night.

I really can't think straight this morning, thanks to Ken for a great night, I am just not used to drinking now and suffer when I do. But it was fun and a great meal as well. I will let the photos do the talking.

The gathering.

Ken even catered for people who were driving by making Japanese tea.

The tea came in a cast iron tea pot.

Now for some trees.

Larch.

Hawthorn.

Two Junipers, which we split earlier this year, both still growing very well.

The Yew still looking great.

Cork bark Elm.

Scots pine, which was worked on last Natter night.

All washed up.

Laid back.

The sun starting to set.

Then the moon gave us a show.

The end of a perfect night.

Just two words left to say.

Thanks Ken.

Invite to Ken's.

We have been invited to Ken's once more for a bite to eat and a drink or two, needless to say there will also be some Bonsaiing going on as well. So look out for more photos tomorrow.

That cheeky grin is always a welcome sight.

I am looking forward to seeing how much his Yew has improved.

Also this view once more.

Maples.

My Maples continue to thrive, even through this heat and sun we are having. Probably due to giving them plenty of water, better too much than not enough.

Kiyohimi.

Palmatum.

Thief deterrent.

If you want to keep thieves out, you need one of these.

Sorry if you got a fright..

New stands.

I have been playing around again, with some slices of Cherry wood.

Well I think they have turned out quite good.

The edges I worked with a Dremmel, then sanded, I then stained the edge with wood dye and after they were polished with bee's wax.

No varnish was used in the making of these stands.

The lighter is for size comparison.

Natter night 15th July 2013.

The weather was still nice to me and my four visitors tonight, there was a few missing due to holidays, but we still had a good time.

This first tree a Scottie brought by Ken M, we did a bit of pinching needles and a little clipping/

Here we see Ken trying to look natural, but he was posing really.

The tree after work, maybe next year we can get it into a smaller pot.

Paul M brought this Boulevard Sulpher spray and we changed it into a Literati.

The big branch on the right was removed, because it was to thick and did not look natural where ever we placed it.Again it needs a better pot when we get the foliage and Jins sorted,

Even the cat wanted to join in.

Let's hope this good weather continues for a while longer.
