Overall this tree is Seven inches high.

A few gallon.

After a day like today when it turned out to be a scorcher my trees needed a lot of water to see them safely through the night.

Sunday morning sunshine.

It is nice to see some nice sunshine again.

Boulevard Cypress.

I had this Boulevard Cypress for sale at the boot sale in Doncaster last year and as no body bought it I did this restyle on it.

This is it now eleven months later and it has put so much new foliage on it needs a good trim.

Maybe I will try at the boot sale again this year.

A trim and clean up.

Today I have been doing a trim and clean up on this Itoigawa Juniper.
-----------------------------------------------------

I think this tree is getting better with each trim.

Natter night 19th August 2019.

One of them nights that turned into something special when Robert Porch arrived with Boxy. The new boys Kevin and Gibby got an insight into how a good teacher works and Paul had a free workshop with Robert.
------------------------------------------------

The studio was quite full tonight.

Kevin got on with wiring his Hinoki.

Then Robert talked through the styling of the tree with him.
For a first styling it turned out really good.

Paul meanwhile got on with wiring his Juniper.

A nice little Shohin tree.

The finished image, for now.

One for Graham, Robert is sitting waiting for you so you better not be late.

It is always a good night when Robert shows up.
The knowledge he imparts is second to none.

Thanks Robert.

Who remembers ?

When we were away on holiday at the end of June there was a heatwave and my Dawn Redwood was scorched rather badly. But with some tender loving care it has now recovered to the extent of being almost back to normal.
------------------------------------------------

Nice lush new foliage all over.

Natter night 12th August 2019.

Sorry my post is a little late today, but here it is.
------------------------------------------------------------

Kevin brought this newly bought Hornbeam to show us.

It had moss growing up the trunk, so I gave him the special tool to remove it, { an old tooth brush }

A nice tree which will only get better.

Now back to this Hinoki that was started last week.

Kevin decided to create a Mother and Son image, so started to wire. We got the Son part almost done.

Kevin will wire the other part next Monday.

A good start to becoming a Bonsai.

Hooray !.

Hooray.

The rain has stopped at last, but for how long ?

Squamata Juniper.

Just finished a long overdue job of dewiring this Squamata Juniper.

As well as dewiring it was also given a slight clip and a clean up and another coat of lime sulpher again.

Only one or two branches have not set yet, but a small amount of new wire will sort that out.

Tree of the week No 5

My tree of the week is a Boulevard Cypress.

Monday, 5 August 2019

Natter night 5th August 2019.

Only one tree to work on tonight, a Hinoki bought from a garden center.
------------------------------------------------
Completely raw stock but very healthy.

New boy Kevin cleaned it out, with me supervising, ready to be wired.

Sorry no photos of him working on it.

A dull but warm night, so we worked in the garden once more

The company and banter was very good as always.

Tree of the week No 4.

My tree of the week is an Acer Palmatum.

Bonsai Thursday.

Today with Dave and Boxy we had another look at the largest of the Larch groups that had been worked on recently.
-----------------------------------------------------
This is how it looked after the work was done two weeks ago.

First Boxy had a go

Then Dave.

How it looks now, after some thick branches had been removed.

Getting better all the time.
