Natter night 30th December 2019.

This will probably be my last post for this year, so just in case I forget I would like to say thanks to all who have supported my blog over the the year and a happy new year to one and all.
------------------------------------------------
Also to everyone who has attended my natter nights, my thanks for invigorating my interest in this mad passion for Bonsai.
------------------------------------------------

This tree was the main thing tonight, I set the new boys the task of finding the best front and also asked for what style they would chose ?

As the tree was in a broken pot and this one was the right size I changed it.
This was one possible new front.

This was the second possible front.

I also showed them how to create Jin from some dead branches.

They have learned a bit more tonight.
------------------------------------------
Finally Ken T brought this nice little Pyracantha for a little advice.

Once again A HAPPY NEW YEAR to all.

Natter-day.

What a great turn out yesterday for the first natter-day here at Ronin Bonsai.
-------------------------------------------------------------
First to arrive were the people who had travelled the farthest, Robert from Glasgow with Ian and Lindsey from Grimsby .

Some of the sales trees.

The weather was really good to us, so people were milling about outside most of the day

Even when it started to get dark.

This is one tree that has stayed here with me.

My sincere thanks to all who came and made it one of them really special days.

Natter-day Saturday..

Saturday 28th December see's the first time I am having a Natter-day instead of a natter night. I have a lot of my regular visitors as well as some new ones coming, along with Robert Porch with some trees for sale.
--------------------------

These tables will probably be full of trees..

I will have to start early preparing the food, not Turkey sarnies,

I for one am looking forward to a very good day with very good friends.

Natter night 23rd December 2019.

The twins, Kevin and Graham got to do the wiring.

Still plenty to do, but good practice.

All ready for Saturday.

Update , whats been happening at Ronin Bonsai.

Having not posted for a few days, or more, here is an update of what has been going on here at Ronin Bonsai.
-------------------------------------------

The main focus of the last few weeks has been on wiring for the newbies.
Which they have relished with much gusto.

Finished for now, some after care and attention for a while and this tree will become a very nice image.

To continue with the learning cycle this Juniper is the next to be wired.

Can you hear the concentration from these two.

Taking a rest Graham ?

Finally to night Ken T brought these two Cotoneaster's for a little advice.

They will need a repot in spring as the pots are a bit on the large side.
But will make nice trees.

Hemlock.

My Hemlock is looking quite good at the moment.
------------------------------------------------

Update on my last post.

A comment on my last post was how do I protect from to much water ?
---------------------------------------------

My shade house, it does not look up to much but is about three meters square with a poly carbonate roof, netting on two sides and no door.

It gives cover from the rain but allows plenty of light and ventilation for my trees.
