Natter night 28th Oct 2014.

My Maple did not like the winds we have had lately as this photo shows, not a leaf left on it.

This small Juniper was the only tree that turned up tonight for work to be done.

The front view before working.

The rear view before working.

The front view after working. We did not do a repot just a transfer into this pot for now,

The view from the rear
shows the change of planting angle

The lighter is for size comparison.

A small tree but it kept us busy all night.

After the storm.

Here are some photos from the garden today after a few days of quite stormy weather and the effect it has had on the trees.

A Maple almost bare now.

Hawthorn well on it's way to winter.

Group Hawthorn nearly there as well

Windswept Larch almost ready to be wired once more.

I wish someone would tell this Hosta winter is coming.

Nature is great.

Step five, the road to Noelanders.

Step five takes the shape of an interview at the local council office, which I have to do on 4th November, after this I should get my passport 7 to 10 days later. Then it will be all systems go for the Noelanders show in February 2015.

Providing I pass the interview.

After all the interest that was shown by quite a few people last Sunday at Elsecar, this is just to keep them up to date.

Natter night 20th Oct 2014.

A little bit quiet tonight with only one tree to work on, which was brought by Andy P.

This small Potentilla from nursery stock.

Mike R and Andy having a good look to see which branches to use.

Andy then applied some wire.

I tried to use Tommy as a backdrop for the resulting image.

I decided to wire the branches, that I left last week, on this small Spruce and make a full image for the time being.

A very nice image emerged from doing this.

Even though it was quiet we still had a good night.

Another pot.

This is another pot I got at the BTA on Sunday, off Walsal ceramics stand.

Also a better photo of the one from Ian Baillie

New pot.

This is one of the new pots I bought today at the BTA show, a new design by Ian Baillie, it was only fired last Thursday and at the moment is a one off.

Great pot Ian keep up the good work.

BTA Show Elsecar.

At the BTA show at Elsecar today I had a great day meeting up with a lot of old friends and making some new ones as well. I picked up a couple of new pots, no surprise there then, as well as some sundries which I was getting short of.

Photos of the show stands.

A great day out at this new venue.

Just realised this is also my 700th post.

The old country.

As a lot of people will know I am now a British citizen, but my younger brother has just sent me this reminder of the old country, which now flies above my Bonsai.

When I get my British passport I will fly the Union Jack.

Natter night 13th Oct 2014.

Yet another great night with plenty visitors and some good work done on trees.

Andy P brought back his homework from last week for assessment, this Larch which he wired and styled,. I think we can give him a pass on this one.

Next this Yew belonging to Ken M  required some refinement work done.

With some help from Mike R it was wired and clipped.

Getting closer to the image Ken is looking for.

The original design was by Marc Noelanders.

Mike R and myself got this Spruce in this afternoon and started to remove unwanted branches.

Just a few branches.

Not many left but nice and fine to create a nice image from.

I also did a bit of carving to naturalize some of the bulk near the base.

This will be refined at a later date.

The final image looks more tree like.

If you look close you can see the blue cloth wrapped around some branches that have been left on as a second option.

A very productive night, enjoyed by all eight of my visitors.

Hectic week.

After a hectic week ,what with my citizenship ceremony and applying for my British passport, it is nice to be back among my trees. Autumn must be really close now looking at the Maples changing colour.

I love Autumn for the colours but Winter is never far behind.
