Acer Palmatum.

After I repotted my Acer Palmatum at the start of the season with the hope of making it a much larger tree, it looks like it will not take as long as I thought.

This was the tree after the first flush of foliage in Spring.

This photo taken this morning shows how much the foliage has grown since then.

Next year it will need a restyle, something I am looking forward to.

Bonsai Thursday with Dave.

When Dave came over today we worked on this piece of bogwood in preparation for planting with a tree.

Although most of it is solid, the base had a lot of rot, so we placed some plastic mesh and covered this with galvanized wire mesh to hold it in place.

With this set up there should be no problem with drainage.

From the back you can see the pot shape we have created for the tree to be planted in.

Next spring we will install the tree.

Natter night 8th August 2016.

The wind finally dropped for this evenings get together, felt more like Winter than an August evening.

I started off working on this Cotoneaster cascade to tidy it up a little.

Although just a young tree it is now starting to show signs of pads taking shape.

I gave Boxie the task of thinning out this Azalea, which I got from a neighbor a couple of months ago.

Now it is much more open it will allow the light in to promote some back budding.

Another good night once more.

Natter night 1st August 2016.

Ken M brought his Yew back for a good clip out tonight, which kept me quite busy.

Paul M brought this Cotoneaster to work on, but did not manage to finish wiring it, so he will bring it back next week.

Nice colour sky to finish the night.
