Natter night 7th August 2017.

Another quiet night as regards trees to work on, but we had a good natter and put the world to rights.
----------------------------------------------

One of my Boulevard Cypress, after a little work today.

Andy brought this Dwarf Azalea to show us it's second flush of flowers.

Margarey brought this Hawthorn for a little clip.

Now it needs to be wired.

My small Common Juniper was also cut back.

Not many nibbles left.

Tidy up.

I have just finished doing a bit of  a tidy up in preparation for tonight's natter night.
------------------------------------------------
My display for today.

The water bottles are full, the nibbles are bought and at the moment I am ready to work on trees.

Clip, clip clean up.

After a really bad start with this Juniper Communis when I first aquired it, this tree has now recovered and is ready for a clip and clean.
--------------------------------------------------------------

Before work was done.

The Shari was cleaned first, then the clipping began. I then applied lime sulpher to the Shari and cleaned the bark and pot.

Looking a lot better than it was, a worthwhile job.

Squamata Juniper work today.

I started this morning to tidy up my Squamata Juniper.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is on the bench before work.

In the studio after a good clipout and cleaning the bark and pot.
With flash on.

In the studio, without flash.

 A much improved image now.

Bonsai Thursday with Dave.

Today with Dave was Cotoneaster day, the one Dave brought earlier this year.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When it arrived  this is what it was like.

This morning the first thing done was to bring a branch up to give us something to form an apex.

A lot of the branches were removed and the top of the soil cleaned up.
This revealed a bit more trunk.

After wiring and tweaking a very nice windswept image has revealed itself.

We both really love doing this sort of work together.
The tree will be potted into a training pot in the spring, as it is still in the soil it came in.

Before and after.

The paint on my new display tables has had time to dry and harden overnight and are looking quite good.
----------------------------------------------------------------

From this .

To this.

Glad I decided to paint them.

The answer.

To answer my own question from yesterday I decided to paint my new tables black.

First a coat of primer.

Then a few coats of black gloss paint.

Turned out well.
