Natter night 13th March 2017.

My natter night once again turned into a repotting night as all the trees that were brought were done.

Ken's Fir was the first to be worked and was in bad need of some root pruning and new compost.

This Downy Birch was the next to be done, it was brought by Andy just for some advice, but as the old compost was smelling rather rancid we decided to do a repot.

Not before time, it was some what pot-bound.

Back in the same pot, roots trimmed and fresh compost.

Next was the small Maple on the right.

Again plenty of roots.

Potted into a training pot, to get the roots to spread out flatter.

Yet more dirty nails to clean tonight.

Playing about.

While getting ready for our get together tonight I was playing about in the studio with this display.

Boulevard Cypress and Kojo-no-mai.

I know I am going to leave myself wide open to abuse, but what do you think ?

Repot at Ken's. Part 2.

When we got to Ken's it was raining, so we worked in the green house.

The first task was to remove from the garden tub, which the tree has been in for a long time.

While Ken raked out the root ball I added mesh and tying wires to the pot.

After getting the tree into the pot we then removed all the wire from last year's styling, as it was starting to bite into the bark.

Almost done.

Replaced on the decking on a new display stand.

The tree will be left to grow freely this season to regain it's vigor.

Repot at Ken's.Part 1.

Going to Ken's today to repot his big Pine that was styled by Robert Porch last year.

More photos later.

Happy Hawthorn.

It looks like my Hawthorn is very happy with being repotted recently, as the new buds are moving very fast at the moment.

The buds looking very fresh and green.

A closer look shows that a lot of flowers are the order of the day again this year.

My Chuhin Larch continues to flourish.

Most of the buds are  now open.

Spring is here.
