Natter night 16th April 2018.

It was yet another busy repotting night, which is the usual thing at this time of year.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Boxies Hornbeam was the first on the list tonight.

This is the new pot by Ian Baillie.

A slight change of angle

The tree looks much better in it's new pot.

This variegated Cotoneaster was next, after Margery removed the wire.

A larger pot to allow the tree to grow better.

Another Scot's pine which belongs to Ken M was potted next.

Looking good with some new compost it will boost vigor in this tree.

Brian T brought this Itoigawa juniper to be restyled and a good tidy up.

Needless to say there was plenty of foliage to be removed.

This is the part of Bonsai I enjoy the most.

This is the original front of this root over rock.

But the rock shows better from this side.

Still a lot of work to be done, but I should get it finished this week.

In the garden.

I have been in the garden this morning checking on the trees, as I do every morning, and they are doing well.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

This Hawthorn is going to be covered with flowers once again.

Maple taking shape.

The Gold Finches are also back.

A good sign of spring.

Ready for work update.

Number one done, this Larch is the first one that has been worked on, of the three trees I posted this morning.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is how it was this morning.

After working this evening.

When the mood takes you, you have to strike.

Ready for work.

When I say ready for work, I did not mean me, but these three trees.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A Larch which is growing quite fast now after a slow start.

A Needle Juniper, which has been left for a year to regain vigor, is also ready for some wiring.

A Procumbens Juniper is ready for some tidy up work.

Seems like I am going to be busy once more.

Back at Brian T's.

Today we went back to Brian's to finish the Larch we started a couple of weeks ago, we thought we were almost done, but we still had a lot of wire to put on.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last time, after spending a long time adding wire.

About half way.

Finished wiring, now to tweak a little.

A little more.

And some more.

Yet more.

Even more.

Finally finished, it really is quite a big tree.

This Larch is a bit smaller.

Which Brian worked on in the shed.

Looked more refined after working.

Now for repotting. A small Juniper.

Another Juniper was also given a new pot and planting angle.

Yet another good day, Brian ordered the sunshine once more.

Bonsai Thursday with Dave.

The world was put right once again when Dave came over for our usual morning of Bonsai, among other things.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

We had a good look at this Maple to see if we could move it on a little on it's Bonsai journey

After a little wiring we looked at the surface roots, which on one side were absent, so we are trying to grow some.

We removed some bark from just above the compost and packed it with sphagnum moss, then covered it with plastic, basically an air layer to see if it will produce new roots.

Finger's crossed.

Bonsai Wednesday.

Yet another good night doing what I enjoy, Bonsai.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

John R brought this Swamp Cypress to get some more work done on the deadwood, which did not take long, so I started to wire it.

As you can see it does not have a lot of branches.

The final image for tonight.

John was quite pleased with the result.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dev brought this Larch to get some better photos with a good backdrop.

A nice tree Dev.
