Natter night 12th November 2018.

Wet, wet ,wet but it did not dampen the spirits of my visitors tonight.
----------------------------------------------------
This was the only tree brought tonight, a Squamata juniper, which needed the wire removed.

Robert [ Dave ] came down to see us once more. Here he is looking at a Potentila, as he has two at home that need to be started on their journey to become Bonsai.

As there was not much to do with trees it turned into a reading room.

Meanwhile Graham got on with removing wire from the Squamata.

Even though there was not a lot of work done, it was still an enjoyable night.

Dining out.

Kath and I went out for a birthday meal tonight at a very nice Indian restaurant and boy what a great meal we had.
-----------------------------------------------

We were not to sure from the outside.

But on entering the table was all ready for us.

The chef reminded me of someone.

Joking aside, it was one of the best meals I have ever had.

Thank you very much Mike and Marzena for a really good night.

Just in case you don't recognize him , it's Boxy.

One year on.

Well I survived my first year of being retired and I have enjoyed every day of it.

What a lovely night we are having tonight.

They are not stars, it's rain

Another coffee and an early night I think.

Bonsai Thursday.

When Dave arrived this morning I was in the process of finishing the group of Larch I started yesterday.
-------------------------------------
There was still one tree that needed wiring, so it was finally finished today.

Then Dave and I had a look at this dead Yew, with a view to turning into a Tanuki style tree.

We thought about adding a juniper.

After Dave went home I delivered the group back to Andy and had a look round his garden.
I came across this Itoigawa juniper that needed a tidy up and brought it home with me.

Job done, foliage sorted and Shari cleaned.

Bonsai Wednesday.

I have always said I like a challenge, but tonight John brought a good one, his neighbor Andy sent this for me to have a go at.
-------------------------------------------------

This Larch group was rather overgrown when it arrived.
There are eleven trees in the group.

Where to start ? Some holes through the plastic pot.

Then some strong wire through the holes onto the bottom of some of the trees, so I could spread them out a little.

Next the job of wiring the branches.

I managed to get about half way, when it was time for Tony and John to head off home.

I just carried on wiring, once I start I like to finish.

Not a bad image  for a first styling, in just three hours.

I will deliver it back tomorrow, I hope Andy is pleased with my work.

Mugo pine, Jins.

I have been doing a little work on my Mugo pine tonight,
-------------------------------
Just creating Jin from the stubs left from removing unwanted branches.

They look a bit more natural now.
