Chinese Juniper.

I have just finished a little clean up on this Chinese Juniper.

Bark cleaned and lime sulpher added to Shari.

A good friend.

I have just learned of the passing of a very good friend and fellow Bonsai enthusiast Brian Wilson.

Brian was the one who did this portrait of me only last year.

R I P  Brian.

You will be missed very much.

Common Juniper.

I have today been working on this Common Juniper.

When I purchased this tree last year I discovered quite a bit of rot in the lower trunk. This has been sorted, but caused a problem with the growth of foliage, I am pleased to say the foliage is now doing well.

The work done was simply to remove any thing that was dead to allow light to get inside to aid back budding.

Dragon find.

No, not a real one but this wooden one.

Found in a local charity shop.

Natter night 4th April 2016.

I had five visitors tonight, but no one brought any trees to work on.

Just as well I did some work this afternoon on this Squamata Juniper, which was in need of a clip out.

I removed quite a lot of the foliage to allow light in to promote back budding, but the tree still looks full.

This Hawthorn has also been given its first style as a Literati.

As was this Downy Birch, which had been lying around here for a couple of years and no one wanted.

I also had this Japanese Rose, which now has a pot of it's own.

This Azalea was planted in the same pot as the rose, it also has a pot of it's own

The night was not as quiet as I thought it would be.

Squamata Juniper.

After leaving this Squamata Juniper for over a year to regain it's vigor, I have just given it a good trim.

It is now a good colour and now it has been thinned out it will allow more light into the inside to promote back budding.

All it needs now is a good growing season.

Willowbog chat 2nd April 2016.

We are now into the second quarter of the year already and today seemed to be a repotting day above everything.

Today's display in the Tokanoma, a large fantastic Maple.

This Northofagus was given a new pot, it was placed at a new angle as well.

I gave David some advice about styling when it settles into the new pot.

This Blue Ceder has also been repotted.

More potting, this time Colin with a Larch.

John H repotted this very nice Chinese Juniper.

I also managed to do some work on this Juniper of mine.

I came home with very dirty finger nails, but happy with the day's work.
