Berberis update.

My Berberis is waking up after it's winter sleep, which is always good to see.

This season I will be concentrating on getting the foliage sorted better.

The deadwood is aging well and starting to look more natural.

I am very pleased with it's progress at the moment.

Natter night 8th April 2019.

Quite a busy night once more with plenty of discussion going on about what and when to do things with different types of trees.

Boxy gave Graham some really good information on what to do with this nice Scots Pine.

I meanwhile did a little work on this Itoigawa Juniper, which belongs to Sue S, who has returned to Natter night once more.

Over the last couple of days I have been working with wood again.

This Shohin stand has been varnished and looks quite good .

As has these two.

I also came across this piece of branch that had been chopped off a tree and decided to try to make an accent pot out of it.

Worked out quite good with some Black Grass planted in it.

Along with a scroll it made up a nice three point display.

Very happy with the work done.

A good day.

I have had a good day in the garden today, did a lot of tidying up and moving things around to give me a little more space.

Moved this table and future projects into an alcove from the middle of the garden.

This table is now clear for use when the studio is to full to work in.

Now all we need is some really good sunshine and a nice summer.

Cotoneaster as it arrived.

Complete with weeds.

Shari created to find the live vein.

A little carving.

Getting rid of the fine hairy bits with the blow torch.

The tree was then put on a lower table, to allow the apex to be worked on.

Back on the bench to do this big stump.

Then Tony wired the foliage.

A trim and a tweak to form a skeleton image.

A nice image for it's first styling.

Bonsai Wednesday.

Just a quick before and after on Tony's Cotoneaster tonight, as I am knackered. Will do a full post tomorrow.

Only one tree brought tonight, once again by Graham, this time a Juniper which he had started to wire and finished it tonight.

Graham seems to like wiring.

I enjoy tweaking trees.

Had to place it on a lower turntable to finish the apex.

All done for now.

Feed and grow for a few months now.
