Bonsai Thursday.

Today was all about getting a couple of trees ready for the Winter image show up in Alloway village hall Scotland on Sunday.

The first show of the season, hosted by the Ayrshire Bonsai Group.

Disaster strikes.

After a very stormy night I woke up this morning to see one of my Juniper's on the ground with the pot smashed.

No it is not my idea of Kintsugi, but to see if I have got all the bits.

Being it is a pot from Begei, I am hoping my good friend Robert can fix it for me.

The tree having survived the ordeal, has been slip potted into an Ian Baillie pot.

When this sort of thing happens it is always a good pot and never a cheap one.

Natter night 06 01 2020.

Some really good work done tonight with plenty of visitors.

Ken M brought his Fir tree for some Winter clean up work.

He had plenty of help. Thats what I like about these nights everybody helps each other.

Looking a lot better after some work.

Next is Kevin's new Hornbeam, which he had partially wired.

So he and Boxy carried on with it.

Boxy then did the tweaking, what a very nice wind swept image. Well done lads.

Finally this Itoigawa juniper has had some work done this week.

We decided to go with this as the new viewing angle.

All done for now, just some tender loving care for a while until it recovers.

A lot of  banter once again, but a really good night.

Bonsai Thursday with Dave and Boxy.

We had a good look and discussion about this Juniper and think we have come up with a design that will suit the tree perfectly.

It needed some heavy gauge copper wire added and as my fingers don't work as good as they used to, I got Boxy to put it on for me.

More pics and report when styled.

01-01-2020.

Being 01-01-2020 it is a nice sunny and warm morning.

My trees are enjoying this weather.

Natter night 30th December 2019.

This will probably be my last post for this year, so just in case I forget I would like to say thanks to all who have supported my blog over the the year and a happy new year to one and all.

This tree was the main thing tonight, I set the new boys the task of finding the best front and also asked for what style they would chose ?

As the tree was in a broken pot and this one was the right size I changed it.

This was one possible new front.

This was the second possible front.

I also showed them how to create Jin from some dead branches.

They have learned a bit more tonight.

Finally Ken T brought this nice little Pyracantha for a little advice.
