Another idea.

Isn't it funny how things just pop into your head when your not thinking of anything special.
----------------------------------------

In my last post I said all I needed was a pot and a tree to make this driftwood special, well I think I found them.

This is just a mock up of what could be done just to see if it works.

I think it works fine.

Bonsai Thursday.

When Dave arrived yesterday I was all ready for him, with a drawing book and a pencil.
Having almost decided on which way to use the driftwood I have been given.
--------------------------------------------------------

My thanks for all the suggestions, I also liked no6 , so I set Dave the task of drawing an idea of how the foliage should be placed,.

Here he is looking at some books, trying to find a pot to go with the image.

This is what he came up with.

Nothing left to do now, except find a pot, find a tree and bring them together.

Bonsai Wednesday.

Only two tonight.
-------------------------------------
Not people, not trees but two Goldfinches who came for their supper.

Looking for ideas.

I have been having a look at the driftwood I was given by Robert to see if I could get an idea of what to do with it.
---------------------------------------------

Now I am puzzled more than ever, I think it will depend on the tree I use.

The Lava pot is by Ian Baillie Pots.

Quiet day, a one for me.

I have had a real quiet day today, I have not done anything bar get my hair cut, but I did have a little wander round the garden though.
-----------------------------------------------
My Hawthorn group growing very well.

Potentilla loaded with flowers.

Two Yew's and a Pyracantha planted on coral.

A common Orchid growing with my accents.

A piece of driftwood given to me by Robert Porch over the weekend.

Can you see the Swan ?

A lot of options with this one.

An early night called for I think.

Natter night 27th May 2019.

After a very busy weekend it was nice to relax and enjoy the night with good company and banter.
--------------------------------------------
Graham showed his appreciation after his day with Robert by bringing this nice cake for us to enjoy.

A nice gesture Graham [ sorry none left ]

This unusual Willow was given a trim.

Although a little late to do an air layer Graham wanted a lesson on how to do it, so Robert showed him how.

All finished and wrapped up.

I hope everyone enjoyed the night as much as I did.

Thanks guys.

Ken's day with Robert.

Today it was Ken's turn to have Robert Porch in his garden for the sole purpose of learning about the future refinement of his Bonsai.
---------------------------------------------------
The entrance to the decked area.

As is usual Robert has a walk and talk about the collection he has been called in to look at.

Ken's garden is good for taking sneaky photos.

Boxy was tasked with wiring this nice White Pine.

I was given the job of planting yet another Buxus in Ken's Japanese garden, as well as tidying a couple of the smaller trees .

The trees on the display benches.

Robert the took over from Boxy, to do his magic on the Pine.

Taking shape very nicely.

Almost there, but as I had to leave to get ready for my Natter night, I did not get a finished photo.

Yet another really good day with very good company.

Graham's day with Robert.

Today it was Graham's day in his garden with Robert Porch.
-------------------------------------------

Today was all about learning to look after trees and what was the requirement each tree needed.
His collection may look familiar to some of my blog followers as it was the collection of Graham's father in law Andy P who sadly passed away a year ago.

Andy was a regular at my natter nights just as Graham is now.

After a walk and talk round the garden with Robert the work was started.

They started with some small Larches.

Two of the Larches after the first lesson.

Next was this Pine under discussion.

After some work was done. Looks like a different tree.

Graham should be at my usual Monday night get together tomorrow night and after today's lesson he will be teaching us.

Brian's day with Robert.

Today was a day in the garden of Brian T with Robert Porch, with Boxy and me as skivvies to help.
-----------------------------------------------------

A lovely place to be working

Robert started with a very nice White Pine.

Boxy got to work taking wire off.

All three very busy.

This Juniper was given the Robert treatment.

Next a nice Hornbeam.

That man never stops.
