More sunshine.

Even more sunshine today, it is working wonders with the trees, they are loving it.

Some of the small ones.

Natter night 4th June 2018.

The weather was kind to us tonight, warm enough to work in the garden.
----------------------------------------------------------------

So I handed Tony W a pair of wire cutters and my Boulevard Cypress as he enjoys removing wire.
A good job done. Thanks Tony.

Paul M brought this small juniper to have the wire taken off.

He also removed the old needles, which there were plenty of.

Boxie finally got a coat of lime sulpher on his Juniper.

Then Ken brought this Buxus for a revamp and clean up.

After removing the fern and the rest of the weeds.

Boxie then did a lot of work on the deadwood by tearing and gouging.

Looks a lot more natural now.

A little wire and a bit twist to improve the shape.

Now it will be left to grow.

Carry on weeding.

This morning it was carry on where I left off yesterday, weeding and cleaning.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Much tidier, my Dawn Redwood.

Boulevard Cypress.

Before weeding.

Squamata Juniper.

Itoigawa Juniper.

Common Juniper.

Thats the weeding done, until they grow again.

Weeding today.

The trees are growing well at the moment, so are the weeds and as we get a lot of rain in this area they act like moss and make the pots retain a lot of water. Which is not good for them.
---------------------------------------------------------------

My Hemlock looking tidy with nice fresh foliage.

Hawthorn, weed free now.

Squamata juniper also weed free.

As is this Itoigawa juniper.

Anyone want any weeds, free to a good home.

This is how it starts, then before you know it the pot is full of them.

If I get time tomorrow I will probably do a few more.

Wirral Bonsai Society show. Part two.

Here is my full post on the Wirral Bonsai Society show at Port Sunlight garden center.
--------------------------------------------------------------

Some photos of the displays.

Individual trees.

Andy looks pleased and so he should, with the quality of trees on display.

Well done to  the Wirral Bonsai Society for a job well done.

Wirral Bonsai Society show.

Today Boxie and I attended the Wirral Bonsai Society show at Port Sunlight garden center and what a  great display it was.

The venue.

As I do not want to spoil the show for visitors tomorrow I am only posting this one photo until after the show.

Our thanks to Andy Hardman and the crew for the warm welcome and the hospitality today.

Closing down.

Just heard the first rumblings of thunder, so the storms that were forecast are almost here.

Stay safe everyone and drive carefully.
