Natter night 8th October 2018.

After a really good night, I am thinking about changing the title to comedy night, as we had a lot of laughs last night. The banter was the best it had ever been, my sides were aching.
-----------------------------------------------------
Not many trees tonight but Graham brought these two groups to get some advice.
The one on the left is Swamp Cypress. The smaller one is Dawn Redwood.

He also brought his entrance fee. Thanks Graham.

I decided to do a little work on this Procumbens juniper.

A good clip out was all that was done.

Looks a little neater now.

Despite the joviality we still managed to get some work done on trees.

More Autumn colour.

My Berberis has also changed colour over the last couple of days.

Front view.

Rear view.

Chilly morning.

I have just been outside in the garden and it felt quite chilly this morning, looks like Autumn is really here.

My Hawthorn's showing nice Autumn colours.

Next the cold.

Visitor's.

I am expecting some visitor's tomorrow, so I have had a little tidy up, that is cleaned some of my pots.
------------------------------------------------------

Maybe do some more in the morning.

Bonsai Thursday.

I had a very good morning with Dave today when he came over, we decided to have a go at this Procumbens juniper on bogwood.
----------------------------------------------

This is just after the juniper was planted on the bogwood.

It looked quite good, but after a clip out, it looks more like a tree than a bush.

Just a small amount removed.

Thanks to Dave we have found a good source for raw material Procumbens juniper.

Bonsai Wednesday.

Tonight was all about removing wire from trees.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
I had already started work on my Hemlock before anybody had arrived, cleaning off the weeds.

As Tony enjoys taking wire off, I left him to get on with it.

The branches did not move far, so I was quite pleased.

Tony brought this Podocarpus.

Which had a good prune.

Dev brought his Yew back for an update on what needed doing.

Which was to remove the wire.

The tree has had a good season of new growth.

Yet another busy night's work.
Well done lads.

Natter night 1st October 2018.

We had another good night tonight, as we always do, even though there was only one tree brought along to be worked on.
-----------------------------------------------------------

This Juniper was brought along by Graham to have the wire removed as it was starting to get quite tight.

Earlier on I started to wire this Taxus and clean the weeds off the compost.

I also cleaned the pot and carried on wiring tonight.

Very pleased with the final image achieved tonight.

Just for size I got this photo with Ken.

I for one am looking forward to next Monday and another natter night with good company.
