Bonsai Thursday.

Dave and I carried on from last week, working on this Procumbens juniper.

A little wire and a prune was in order.

New pot.

I forgot to mention in my last post, Tony brought me a new pot for my collection tonight, this nice Shohin pot by Walsal Studio Ceramics.

Thank you Tony.

Bonsai Wednesday.

Normally it is John, Tony and me, but tonight Robert came as well.
-------------------------------------------------------
He brought this Maple to see if we could do any work on it.

There was a big raised scar where a branch had been removed, so I showed him how to reduce the lump, so it would roll over into a hole rather than onto the surface.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tony brought this Privet as he wanted to see what was going on in the pot.
This photo was taken in April, when first collected.

This photo taken in June, shows a lot of new growth.

Taken tonight growing very strong.

As the tree was growing in garden soil we put it into another training pot with some good compost.

Then added a little wire and gave it a clip out.

Hey presto a nice image.

Under the floodlight.

When outside tonight I had the floodlight on and I thought it showed the trees off quite good.
--------------------------------------------------

Still quite warm out there at the moment.

TV or Bonsai ?

Bonsai every time.
-----------------------------------
On my own and bored, so I went out to the studio and decided to do a little trimming on this Procumbens Juniper.

Not so much a trim as a clean out of the inner foliage.

It does not look a lot different, but is much more open now.

I enjoyed the solitude and the quiet.

Natter night 15th October 2018.

It started off a quiet night when only Robert W brought a tree for some advice on, a nice Cork bark Elm.
-----------------------------------------
As the tree is going into dormancy we did not do any work on it, but gave Robert some advice on what needed to be done in the Spring time.

Boxie decided to do some clean up work on this piece of driftwood.

I think the studio was to tidy for him.

Amazing what you can make with so few tools.

Boxie looks sorry for making a mess.

Then Ken arrived [ late ] and ate the last of the Swiss roll.

Only joking Ken, but we had another really good night.

More cleaning.

I have been doing some more cleaning in the studio today, ready for my natter night tomorrow.
--------------------------------------------------

I don't know why I bother as it will be like a tip by the time my visitors leave.

Still, nice to be nice.
